There is a motion sensor in N95 (also in 5500) that enables this. E.g. Python for S60 offers access to sensors. From PyS60 Library Reference document:
“The sensor module offers direct access to a device’s physical sensors. It has been tested with
• acceleration sensor: raises events about the 3-axes acceleration of the device
• tapping sensor: raises an event when the device was tapped twice on the front side
• rotation sensor: raises an event based on the orientation of the device.”

The N95 uses the Accelerometer which it contains internally, Matti pretty much summed it all up and for all those wondering it has no relation to an internal or external GPS.

Great little thing, but what happens when my N95 is in my back bag and I’m running. When somebody calls and my phone is shaking then the call will be answered?
well to answer your question “Kermo”, when youre running, the phone will shake, thus meaning your call will be inititated, though if you dont want this option, dont turn the application on, simple as that, and there is no getting around such a thing because the application operates on the phone being shaken… so theres no getting around it and no amount of technology will ever be enough to fulfill what you want….

I’ve already tried the beta version and until now the most i can say is that this app is amazing but a little bit difficult to use in the beggining we must have the mobile completly lay down and not at 90 degrees like we use it .
Its not all good news. This application is great, but most of have to self sign it

Just installed nokmote - but it simply does not work on my N95 8GB. I created a signed version on Symbian and it all installs ok. Start App. and activate it using “pen+C” - app. is activated, I run Snake (game) I try moving menu items - nothing works! I also installed rotateme and it works great!!!!! Any help appreciated.
Hi folks - after a lot more messing around - I found that if you press the “Pen + C” keys twice in quick succession nokmote actually starts to work (even though the first press of both keys states that the app. is active). However, even though I am pleased I got it to work - the movement is far to quick to be of any real value - even a tiny tilt of the phone results in very rapid selection changes - so not really very useful right now.
Looks like it is going to be a great app. Samir - can’t wait for further development! Perhaps it would benefit form a timing/slow-down setting something like rotateme has?
@Gary, okay so heres how to make it work.. first you open the nokemote app, then will your inside the app press and holf the pen+c button, there should appear a note saying “Nokmote activated” when you see that, press end call. do not close the nokmote application so that i will work. you can still deactivate it by pressing pen+c or activate it by pressing it again. easy.. Ü

Ok, this program rocks for sure but, its like 3rd December now, hmm, why the stalling ? anyways I also needed the cer. file to run version 1. Anyways look real foward to seing it come online, told my mates bout it and they dont believe me…hurry, I need to prove them wrong lol

Not every phone has a thing called an accelerometer in it, in English it is the sensor for when you tilt the phone.
N95/N95 8GB, N82 and some other phones have accelerometers in them

There is a problem with the site symbiansigned.com . You can not sign applications at the moment unless you have a publisher ID (which is very expensive). I guess we’ll have to wait and see

you need to “sign” it first. check the web for the procedure in signing up for the NOKMOTE. I must warn you though. It is a very tedious process.
